Gurveen Chadha supported a feasibility study for a FAB pilot in Ghana. As a double majore in Government and Economics, Gurveen came to Dartmouth as an alumni of the United World College of India, where she focused on international understanding and community service. At Dartmouth, Gurveen is a Presidential Scholar, Undergraduate Advisor, and an Academic Coach for underprivileged high school students. After college, Gurveen hopes to pursue a career in international development and international relations.

Earth Chariyawattanarut supported a feasibility study for a FAB pilot in Ghana. Before Dartmouth, he received scholarships to study in Houston TX, and at the United World College of the Adriatic, Italy. Earth has founded and led a volunteer organization, produced a documentary on immigration, and taught underserved children. At Dartmouth, Earth is the Vice President of SEEDS (Social Enterprise and Economic Development Society), a Great Issues Scholar, a Language in Motion presenter, and has participated in the Tucker Foundation's development project in the Dominican Republic.

 

 


Scott Fletcher

Scott Fletcher advised the development of the FAB website. As the Director of Web Production and Design at UCLA Anderson, since 2003, he has worked with the school's technical staff and its numerous business units to complete two re-designs of the school's external website. These projects have given the site a consistent visual presence on the Web and helped to sharpen the school's messaging to its diverse constituent groups. Scott assists in the selection and implementation of a Web content management system and provides training and support for some 80 developers. As a member of Anderson's Marketing & Communications staff, Scott is involved in editorial planning and production. He writes feature stories about members of the Anderson community andmakes the school's knowledge capital available through research profiles and video interviews.

Tara Kedia supported a feasibility study for a FAB pilot in Ghana. As a double majore in Anthropology and Biology. With a passion for socioeconomic issues and global health equity, she is involved with the global health advocacy and activism group on campus and serves as the intern for Dartmouth's Global Health Initiative. Tara has completed research in physiology and medical anthropology and has helped design and conduct a survey of socioeconomic status and healthcare access among Tanzanian primary school students. She has participated in development-related service projects in Nicaragua and Tanzania and leads a hunger and homelessness alleviation project in the Dartmouth area.

 

 


Neha Kumar

Neha Kumar supported the development of content for the FAB website. Upon graduating from the University of Southern California, Neha worked in the interactive advertising industry for two years, first as a Communications Coordinator and then as a Producer. She joined the UCLA Anderson School of Management as a Media Relations Program Manager in 2009. Neha spent the summer of 2006 volunteering at Manav Sadhna, an NGO based at the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad, India. Her experience working in the slums alongside some of India's most poverty-stricken and oppressed peoples strengthened her beliefs in the importance of social causes and global philanthropy.

Campbell Miller supported a feasibility study for a FAB pilot in Ghana. An Economics major at Dartmouth, Campbell has served as President of Dartmouth Parliamentary Debate and is active in the Federal Reserve Challenge Team, the Dartmouth Centers Forum, on-campus tutoring, and a women's investing club. Campbell spent her sophomore winter in Barcelona studying European monetary policy and recently completed research into incentives for college enrollment among low-income high school students. After college, Campbell is considering a career in law, finance, or social entrepreneurship.

 

 


Ryan Tincher

Ryan supported a feasibility study for a FAB pilot in Ghana. As a double major in Government and Economics and minor in Public Policy, Ryan has served as the President of the Dartmouth College Democrats and guided the organization to the most successful student voting campaign in a midterm election. He is also a managing editor for the Dartmouth Law Journal, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, a member of Palaeopitus senior society, and legal director for Dartmouth Broadcasting. In addition, Ryan has completed research as a Presidential Scholar on public opinion and media coverage of the War on Terror and on the economy. After his time at Dartmouth, Ryan plans to pursue a career in law, business, or politics.

 

 


Carol Zou

Carol Zou built the FAB website and designed and created the home page animation. As the Web Assistant at UCLA Anderson, she updates the Anderson website, designs emails and invitations, and develops Anderson-related sites. Before joining the web team at UCLA, Carol served as a graphic designer for an independent record label and as a coordinator for an arts-based youth center that aims to bring vibrant independent art to East Lost Angeles. Carol holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University, with a major in Fine Arts and minor in Urban and Regional Studies. She looks forward to continuing to promote creativity in the nonprofit and education sectors.

 

 


Erick Miller

Erick Miller created an animation that FAB will employ in its social media strategy. Erick is the founder of Propel Transmedia, a Los Angeles, California based digital media technology company building new innovative digital media web products & services. He is a graduate of of the NUS and UCLA Anderson global MBA program with curriculum taking place in Singapore, Shanghai, Bangalore and Los Angeles. Erick holds more than a decade of experience working in animation and digital media technology leadership roles with companies such as Disney, Sony and Digital Domain. Erick's social media work for FAB is being considered part of a CSR initiative for his new digital media company. Jack Brethauer supported FAB via a field study on financial inclusion in rural India, which included an analysis of a unique, universal ID program implementation and potential feasibility of a FAB pilot in India. During his MBA at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, Jack focused on strategy and finance. Jack was a member several campus organizations, including Net Impact, and has volunteered for Junior Achievement and Project Echo, two charities focused on promoting financial and business acumen in area youth. Prior to his MBA, Jack served for five years as a Nuclear Engineering Officer in the United States Navy and has a Bachelors in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Priya Chordia supported FAB via a field study on financial inclusion in rural India, which included an analysis of a unique, universal ID program implementation and potential feasibility of a FAB pilot in India. After undergraduate studies from Wellesley and with a Bacholar of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Economics, Priya spent the summer conducting an ethnographic study on African-Indian tribal communities. The research was published in 2007 in a book called Shaping Membership, Defining Nation: The Cultural Politics of African Indians in South Asia. After returning to the United States, she spent three years conducting research and evaluation in the Social and Economic Policy department at Abt Associates, with a focus on education. Priya worked for two years at a venture philanthropy firm, New Profit, identifying high-impact nonprofits and helping them grow through financial and strategic investments. In the summer of 2010, Priya led the strategic planning process at Los Angeles Unified School District. With an MBA from UCLA Anderson, Priya pursues a career in strategy anf public education through the Broad Residency.

Brent Peterson supported FAB via a field study on financial inclusion in rural India, which included an analysis of a unique, universal ID program implementation and potential feasibility of a FAB pilot in India. Since 2006, Brent worked n the finance sector, he led a team of financial analysts for the Cicero Group, a consulting firm. At Cicero, he consulted for private equity funds, Blackford Capital and Bond Street Ltd, where he helped these companies acquire six companies. After leaving the Cicero Group, Brent joined REDCO, a renewable energy developer that is building solar and wind farms. In his personal capacity, Brent participated in several international development organizations including HELP International and spent two months in Uganda, helping build the economic development in the city of Lugazi. Brenth holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a B

achelors in Economics at Brigham Young University.

Yelena Zaitseva supported FAB via a field study on financial inclusion in rural India, which included an analysis of a unique, universal ID program implementation and potential feasibility of a FAB pilot in India. Prior to her MBA studies at UCLA Anderson, Yelena served as an auditor with Ernst & Young, LLP, where she provided assurance services to banking and asset management clients in New York City and Moscow. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Yelena graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and minor in Economics. Before transferring to Franklin & Marshall College in 2005, Yelena attended European College of Liberal Arts in Berlin, Germany and American University in Bulgaria. In 2007, Yelena volunteered for Lutheran Church Children and Family Services in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as an Immigration Support Coordinator. She provided interpretation services and other resettlement support to more than 20 refugee families to insure smooth transition to life in the local community. Yelena also served as a President of a teenage non for profit organization “INTERACT,” which actively engages excelling high school student to participate in fundraising activities and raise funds for charitable purposes. In 2001, Yelena was selected as George Soros/Rotary Secondary School Exchange Program Scholar.

Sushmita Meka supported FAB via research support to its concept note during her graduate studies in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. With a Bacholor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California, Sushmita  has worked on the issues of human rights and development. Prior to graduate school, she was based in India with the Centre for Micro Finance at IFMR, researching microfinance and financial access for urban and rural households. She continues to be interested in the expansion of financial services for poor households, particularly through the use of new technologies.

Sophie Brion supported FAB via research support to its concept note during her graduate studies in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. While a  Harvey T. Reid Scholar at the University of Miami School of Law, she participated in the first African Neutral Trial Observers Program, traveling to Namibia to observe a high treason trial. Prior to graduate school, Sophie Brion directed the Women’s Advocacy Project, an initiative of the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade. Through the project, she worked to build collaborative social justice efforts to build the women’s movement, improve women’s economic security, achieve reproductive justice, and end violence against women. Sophie was appointed in 2007 to the Miami-Dade County Domestic Violence Oversight Board.  She served as the Vice-President of the Greater Miami Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and until January 2010 was Co-chair of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council of Greater Miami. Before the Women’s Fund, Sophie worked for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU of Florida. Sophie Brion is a graduate of the University of Miami, with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science.

 


Todd Schweitzer

Todd Schweitzer supported FAB via research support to its concept note during his graudate studies in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He focused his graduate studies on public policy strategies for stimulating private sector development in emerging economies. As a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic, Todd led the development of a new community reinvestment fund at one of the country's most popular national parks and subsequently managed a nationwide youth entrepreneurship initiative. During his undergraduate studies in Economics and International Studies at University of California, Irvine, Todd studied the effects of conflict on political and economic development, particularly in Afghanistan. Todd grew up in Yucca Valley, CA, a small town near Joshua Tree National Park.

Alexandra Cichon supported FAB via research for a feasibility study on the country of Samoa. Alexandra attended Rutgers University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies. After spending 5 years in marketing and business development at Mercedes-Benz USA, Alexandra decided to shift her career into the field of sustainability. In 2008 Alexandra moved to Switzerland and obtained her MBA at the University of St. Gallen and HEC Paris. Since 2010, she has been working at Credit Suisse on Sustainability Affairs team which covers a broad spectrum of environmental and social issues vis-à-vis risk management, stakeholder engagement and business opportunities. She is very interested in the realm of sustainability particularly as it relates to the financial sector and would love to do work related to her native country of Bulgaria.

Vanessa supported FAB with foundation and corporate donor research. Vanessa obtained her Bachelor of Science with major in Finance and CPA Accounting from New York University Stern School of Business in 2006. She performed 2 years of external audit within Banking and Capital Markets group at PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining Credit Suisse in the Finance division in 2008. She is very involved with microfinance initiatives and serves as Communication Chair on the Microfinance Advocates Steering Committee at Credit Suisse. She also has experience with fundraising, having served 2 years as Director of Fundraising at Project by Project, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness of Asian American issues in the community, and has taught fundraising workshops to CARE International and local NGO groups in Tanzania as part of a Global Citizens Program sponsored by Credit Suisse.

Meghana Chethan supported FAB via research for a feasibility study on the country of Samoa and foundation and corporate donor research. Meghana obtained a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU Polytechnic University in 2007. She works with the IT Private Banking division at Credit Suisse leading a team of analysts to build front & middle office systems that support the Hedge Fund, Alternative Investment, Structured Products and Client Management businesses of the Private Bank. She is the VP of Communications for the NYC chapter of the IIBA that helps business analysts develop their business acumen & skills. She also currently serves as Vice Chair for the Microfinance Advocates Steering Committee and is working on volunteer projects with FINCA, ACCION and Women’s Trust in addition to coordinating information sessions with other partner organizations such as Opportunity International & SwissContact.

Sowmya obtained her Master of Science in Computer Science from State University of New York Stony Brook in 2007 and worked for UBS Investment Bank in the Prime Brokerage division for over 3 years. During that time, she held a client-facing role and interacted with hedge funds globally. She was also actively involved in campus recruiting for graduates and undergraduates for the technology division. At Credit Suisse, Sowmya works in Credit IT within Fixed Income division and co-chairs the IT Women's Council Development committee which is responsible for offering trainings and organizing events and educational series for women in IT.

After designing her own major in business and computer science at Cornell University, Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2000. She has held a variety of jobs across several disciplines including business management, project management, process engineering, and business analysis. Michelle has taken on a number of leadership roles throughout her career including managing a global team with staff in Singapore and Pune.

Sheetal Kumar supported FAB via research on Samoa Diasporas and individual-giving tools. At Credit Suisse, Sheetal is a Project Lead for PTG Asia-Pacific Monitoring (Tools & Engineering) in Singapore. He is also a PTG Ambassador. Sheetal graduated from Nanyang Business School in Singapore with an MBA in Finance and Strategy. Sheetal was a finalist in the Kauffman Global scholars Program 2011. Prior to working at Credit Suisse, he worked at Intel Corporation in Bangalore, India as a Project Manager for Validation information System in developing Vortex, a crucial book keeping application to maintain product information for each lab. In 2010 Sheetal led the Singapore IT Expo for Derivatives IT/PTG Asia Teams at Credit Suisse Singapore and won the best innovative booth award.
